A new way to quantify Ultimate performance.

We use two models to map the fundamentals of the game: Completion Probability (how likely a throw is to be completed in context) and Field Value (how each action changes scoring odds). Their outputs power metrics that capture nuance, decision‑making, and contribution — and make familiar stats more useful.

Contribution

Contribution

Contribution is the featured metric of Shown Space. It measures how much a play shifts scoring odds, assigns that value to a player, and normalizes it so it’s comparable to goals and assists. A player with 6.8 Contribution in a game effectively created nearly seven goals. It rewards smart middle movement, not just vertical yards, and accounts for turnovers and game context (including late‑clock shots).

aEC — Adjusted Expected Contribution

Normalized contribution so a single drive totals exactly one.

PI-T — Player Impact (Team)

Your share of the team’s total contribution.

PI-P — Player Impact (Possession)

Your share of contribution within the possessions you played.

LC — Lag Contribution

Setup value from the next throw’s aEC. Crisp resets boost LC; floaty or sideline throws reduce it.
