However, one of the flaws in traditional metrics and basic counting stats is that it misses out on valuable (and known) context. Maybe you're a die-hard sports fan craving the Ultimate version of EPA, DARKO, or WAR. Or maybe you're a Frisbee fanatic on the hunt for that next data point to prove your theory on player impact.
While we can't promise to fulfill all dreams in all contexts, we created this site to take the next step forward in Ultimate Frisbee analytics. We're just getting started, and some of the most exciting and ambitious features are still on the way.

The Cutting Edge of Ultimate Analytics

At Shown Space, we’re not just tracking the game — we're revolutionizing how we understand Ultimate. By using modern machine learning techniques, we're integrating rich context from the UFA to develop both traditional and novel advanced metrics. Here are some of the powerful tools we use to bring deeper insights to Ultimate:

  • Adjusted Expected Contribution (aEC): Quantifies how much a player improves their team’s scoring chances on every touch — automatically adjusting for field position, garbage time, and real value added. For example, a reset that loses yards but improves field position still boosts aEC.
  • xCP & CPOE: Expected Completion Probability and Completion Probability Over Expected provide a new lens on thrower performance by accounting for throw difficulty and showing who's outperforming expectations.
  • Player Tendencies: Innovative visuals reveal where and how players prefer to operate — helping you understand individual styles, roles, and strategic patterns.
